Mr. Billy Mack Eller, age 74 of the Wynnville Community of Snead, Alabama, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015 at his residence.
He was a cattleman with multiple aspects of supporting his profession.
Mr. Eller was consistently very active and supportive with the up keep of Wynnville Community Cemetery.
Among many of Mr. Eller's hobbies, he and his wife were members of the GWRRA Chapter in Birmingham. They toured the southeast with numerous trophies won for participation in weekly bike events, and Mr. and Mrs. Eller were 1990 Alabama Couple of the Year. Another hobby Mr. Eller took pride in was restoring his John Deere Tractors displayed at many tractor shows. He also built two hay wagons that he would pull spectators to entertain the children. One memory we will never forget are the Sunday afternoon hayrides and the many stories he would continue to tell throughout his life. During his time he restored many HIT & Miss, Maytag Engines, and water pumps. Mr. Eller's last project was planting a family orchard that has produced many different fruits that he picked and gave to family and friends. He always said it was a bigger blessing to give rather than receive.
Bill is survived by his wife : Barbara Brooks Eller of Snead, AL; his children : Tina Eller Kent of Hendrix, AL. and Tonya Eller of Boaz, AL.; his grandson: Dylan Kent of Hendrix, AL; his granddaughters: Brooklyn and TJ Gillespie of Montgomery, AL. and Megan and Drew Smith of Huntsville, AL.; his great grandchildren: Drake Gillespie and Kynleigh Gillespie both of Montgomery, AL.; his siblings: Donald " Cotton " Eller of Snead, AL., Larry Eller of Oneonta, AL., and Rachel Blakey of Snead, AL.
Mr. Eller is preceded in death by his granddaughter: Christy Matthews and his parents: Proctor M.and Dorothy Palmer Eller.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:00pm at The Chapel of Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wynnville Cemetery. Mr. Eller will lie in state at Snead Funeral Home on Sunday from 9:30am until funeral time.
Members of the Snead Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers.
