Mr. Billie D. Smith, age 86 of Altoona, AL., passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife – Peggy "Joyce" Franklin Smith of Altoona, AL., his son and daughter-in-law – Billy Rex and Linda Smith of England, his son and daughter-in-law – Gary Lee and Krista Smith of Atlanta, GA., his son – Phillip Eugene Smith of Atlanta, GA.; his grandchildren – December Lea and Michael May, Teague Smith (Becca Broussard), Rachael Smith, Jennifer and Mike Thayer, Jonathan Smith, Jerry and Megan Hughes, Randy Hughes, and Mae Nurnberg; his step-sons – Jeff and Ramona Franklin of Gadsden, AL., Johnny and Lisa Franklin of Huntsville, AL., Jimmy Franklin of Oneonta, AL., and Joe and Crista Franklin of San Antonino, TX.; 13 step-grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law – R.J. and Gladys Smith of Blountsville, AL., and J.D. and Janice Smith of Susan Moore, AL., and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his first wife – Effie Mae Smith, his second wife – Willie Mae Smith, his parents – Roy Eugene and Loretta Lavada (McGlaughn) Smith, and his sister – Marie Moman.

Brother Harold Coe and Brother Allen Johnson will conduct the funeral service on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Blount Memory Gardens.  Mr. Smith will Lie In Repose, at Snead Funeral Home, Friday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until service time.

Pallbearers will be – Mark Smith, Mike Smith, Danny Smith, Teague Smith, Noah Thayer, Mike Thayer, Russell Nurnburg, and Jonathan Smith.
