Mr. Billie Hugh Boatwright, age 74 of Dallas, GA, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb Hospice.

Billie was a hard worker all of his life and made sure his family was provided for.  He worked at Dobbs House for over 20 years and later retired from Delta Airlines.  He and Norma were members of Harvest Baptist Church in Jonesboro, GA.  He was a family man; he loved his wife Norma, his kids, and his grandkids.  Billie loved to travel or just get out and ride around. He visited Hawaii several times.  One of those times included his and Norma's 50 ^th Anniversary Celebration.  His lifelong mission was "to be a blessing" and help others as much as he could.

Some of Billie's hobbies included watching John Wayne movies and collecting train sets.  One of the last places he got to visit, which was really special to him, was The Southern Museum of the Civil War and Locomotive History.

Mr. Boatwright is survived by his wife of 57 years – Norma Boatwright of Dallas, GA; his son and daughter-in-law – Mark and Pamela Boatwright of Dallas, GA; his grandchildren – LaShea Boatwright and Nash Boatwright; his brothers and their wives – Lewis and Edna Boatwright, Ralph and Maxine Boatwright, and W.G. and Bonnie Boatwright; and his sisters-in-law – Doris Boatwright and Margie Boatwright.

Mr. Boatwright is preceded in death by his son – Michael Boatwright; his parents – Oliver and Velma (Bryson) Boatwright; and his brothers – Ray Boatwright and James Boatwright.

Brother Jimmy Aaron will conduct the Funeral Service on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of The Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home from 10:00 PM until Funeral Time.

Pallbearers will be – Nash Boatwright, Edwin Young, Brice Boatwright, Chris Estrada, Wayne Hurst, and Jimmy Noojin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be – Layman Dunn and Jerrel Ivey.
