Mr. Barry Gene Yancey, age 61 of Horton, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Marshall Medical Center in Boaz, Alabama.

Mr. Yancey is a 1981 graduate of Douglas High School and was married to his wife Gina for 23 years.  He had a love for Dove Hunting, Fishing, Nascar Racing, and watching Alabama Football.

He is survived by his wife, Gina Yancey; his children, Hilary Looney (Jerod), Heather Harris (Mike), Brandy Elrod, and Cody Elrod (Ashley); and his brother, Bryan Yancey (Adrienne); his grandchildren, Jayden Bonds (Logan), Keandre Yancey, Jarah Looney, Jakori Looney, Savannah Guthrie, Sierra Harris, Jayvyan Harris, Aidyn Harris, Jorden Goodwin, Nathan Elrod, Kaylyn Elrod, Domminck Elrod, Destinie Gilley; and his great grandchildren, Myla Bonds, Rhydian Coppett, and Aurora Coppett.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Yancey; his mother, Ester Ruth Helms Yancey; his brother, Byron Yancey; and his nephew, Tylor Yancey.

Mark Cotton and Rodney Frix will conduct a Funeral Service on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Snead Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Nixon Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends, at Snead Funeral Home, on Sunday beginning at 12:30 PM.

Skipper Gazaway, Joe Walden, Keandre Yancey, Jayvyn Harris, Aidyn Harris, Chris Poe, Matthew Umphrey, and Jeff Owens will serve as Pallbearers.  Snead Funeral Home is humbled to serve the Yancey Family!
