Audrey Faye Kilpatrick

Audrey Faye Kilpatrick, born on April 12, 1941, departed this world on August 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of those whose lives she had so deeply touched. Audrey’s life was defined by her endless devotion to her faith, her family, and the warmth she brought into every gathering.

From her earliest years, Audrey grew up singing in church with her siblings—her voice no doubt filled the hearts of those who knew her then, just as her presence would so beautifully enrich the lives of her family and friends through the years. As a devoted wife, her marriage with her beloved late husband, Billy Rex Kilpatrick, was a testament to enduring love and steadfast support. Their life together was rich with laughter, shared dreams, and a deep commitment to the values they both held dear.

Audrey found her greatest joy in her family. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Tammy Doty (Roger) and Mechelle Hendrix, and she poured her affection and care into every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is cherished by her grandchildren, Stephen Hendrix (Korie), Justin Hendrix, Patrick Doty (Samantha), Michael Hendrix, Daniel Doty (Hannah), Lindsey Hendrix Brown (Johnathan), Shay Arledge (Kaleb), and Dalton Hendrix. Her legacy lives on in her beloved great-grandchildren: Tyler Holland, Harmony Doty, Paisley Doty, Isaac Doty, Maverick Doty, Judah Doty, and Oliver Brown. Also a loving sister in-law Patsy Kilpatrick Barwick (James) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Audrey’s affection was never more evident than when she spoiled her grandchildren; a practice she undertook with boundless enthusiasm and joy. Every day at Audrey’s home was treasured times—she loved to gather the family, filling the house with delicious meals, the sound of laughter, and memories that would be held dear for years to come. The table she set was not only rich in food, but in love and togetherness—a testament to her gift for nurturing those around her.

With a keen eye for style, Audrey delighted in going shopping, getting dressed up, and especially in preparing herself for a Sunday at church. Her faith was both a guiding light and a source of great strength throughout her life. She was a devoted prayer warrior and her family and friends knew they could come to her with any prayer request and she would not cease until God answered by His will. No matter the occasion, she brought grace and elegance, lifting the spirits of those who shared her company.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Billy Rex Kilpatrick; her dear granddaughter, Shaunaci Titus; her parents, Dozier Kirby and Lessie Jennings Kirby; her siblings, Glynell Kirby, Eslie Kirby, David Kirby; Louise Laughlin, Carolyn Nash Rooks, and Linda Brooks, her beloved in-laws Claud Kilpatrick (Earnesteen) and sister in-law Sue Kilpatrick Axford (Brent) and a host of nieces and nephews. Each of them welcomes her with open arms as she joins them once more.

The legacy Audrey leaves behind is felt not only through her immediate family, but in the smiles of her great-grandchildren, the memories cherished by all who knew her, and the love she so freely gave. She wove together generations with her kindness, and faith, leaving a mark that time cannot erase.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Snead Funeral Home on August 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service honoring Audrey’s life will follow at Snead Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at New Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Though Audrey is no longer with us, her memory will continue to inspire, comfort, and unite those who love her. She will be dearly missed, yet forever celebrated for the love, warmth, and joy she so generously shared throughout her blessed life.

Her family, though saddened as they will miss her immensely, are celebrating knowing that their faith that Audrey bestowed on them will reunite them once again in heaven.
