Mr. Alfred Vernon Sartin, age 77 of Altoona, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Sartin was a member and active deacon of First Baptist Church of Altoona and served as Sunday school superintendent for more than 40 years. He served his country in the United States Air Force, worked with SCI on the Apollo Projects in the 1960's and 1970's, was Plant Manager for Barron Industries Steel Fabricators for numerous years and worked at Lowes.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Bramblett Sartin, Atloona;

daughters, Lisa and Danny Wang, Kennasaw, GA, Robin and Daniel Hopper, Altoona, Loree and Randall Cline, Walnut Grove;

stepsons, Greg Bramblett, Altoona, and Daniel Bramblett, Altoona;

granddaughters, Courtney Wang, Caryn and Hosea Bolonas, Hanna and Slayde Yarbrough;

grandsons, Dan and Melody Hopper, Austin and Cassy Cline, Caleb and Aleah Hopper, David Cline, Nick Cline;

great-granddaughter, Joanna Hopper;

great-grandson, Jameson Cline;

sister, Gwen Moore, Altoona;

A host of nieces and nephews.

Brother George Dunn and Brother Chad Robertson will conduct the Funeral Service Monday, June 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Altoona. Interment will follow in Altoona / Walnut Grove Cemetery. Mr. Sartin will Lie In State at the church Monday from 12 (noon) until service time.

Pallbearers: Randall, Austin and Nick Cline and Daniel, Dan and Caleb Hopper.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. James Robinson

He was predeceased in death by his wife, Ardith Solomon Sartin, parents, Johnny Richard Sartin and Velma Annie (Dunn) Sartin; and brother, Billy Kenneth Sartin.
